Bare Bones Therapy, the creation of Lisa Wiley, came from the idea that people should have credible information to take care of themselves. Lisa is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University, with a Bachelors of Science degree. In the years since graduation, she has worked in a variety of settings, working with individuals across the lifespan and backgrounds. In 2008 she became a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) by the Hand Therapy Certification Commission (HTCC). The achievement came after completing over 5,000 hours of documented treatment of the upper extremity and passing the CHT exam. Even though carpal tunnel is widely known as an "overuse" condition, "tennis elbow" still confuses people. Probably due to the name. Early in her career she realized just how preventable tennis elbow could be. Hence the idea was born. It took several years for the idea to become a reality. Along the way more and more practical advice was compiled to bring to the video. Nancy is a retired Nurse, who maintains her RN license to keep up with what's current (and just in case she might need it again some day). She spends much of her free time volunteering at the local hospital. She is also a handler for a certified hospital therapy dog (Parker) - apparently all that time helping out at the local animal shelter comes in handy! Nancy has suffered with Tennis Elbow off and on since her early days of playing too much Tennis (the real kind, before there was Wii Tennis) and was excited to be part of making this video that could help so many people. Shortly after this DVD was released she had a recurrence of Tennis Elbow pain and immediately grabbed her copy of the video and, following the simple directions it contained, found relief from the pain within 48 hours. She wanted to heal quickly, because walking all 80lbs. of Parker 5 miles every week wouldn't be easy to do with Tennis Elbow pain... |
Matthew:
My story begins in high school, when I decided I was going to make TV better. Not make better TV, mind you, but make TV better. I was on a mission.
After graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in Telecommunication and German, I discovered a thriving production community right hear in Southeastern Michigan. I jumped right in.
Since then, I’ve worked at Big Ten universities and small production companies; advertising agencies, and in-house departments, and, for the last fourteen years as an independent and freelance producer. Through those experiences I’ve learned that I’m really happiest serving the needs of a wide variety of clients.
I’ve also learned my strengths and weaknesses; how to assemble and rely on a team of experts when it’s warranted, and how to do it myself when necessary. And I’ve learned to bring a balance of creativity and practicality to every project I do.
I’ve also learned that, whatever the medium, we communicate most effectively through good storytelling; and that meeting the communication goals of the client is paramount, whatever the tools we use to get there. Effective stories will cut through the clutter every time.
I’m still passionate about making TV (and shows, and interactive presentations, and web sites) better. Perhaps I can do that for you.
